Expensive & Empty: Our Disappointing Reykjavík Layover
Iceland was calling, but maybe not on this layover! We touched down in Reykjavík with visions of exploring the city, only to be met by cold winds and closed shops. This video is a real talk look at our whirlwind (and expensive!) layover in Reykjavík. We dropped our bags, navigated the windy city center, peeked at the famous church (because, Iceland!), and grabbed a (pricey) bite at Café Loki. Ultimately, we decided to head back to the airport and continue our journey to Denmark. While this layover wasn’t what we planned, it’s a valuable lesson in researching destinations, even for short stops! Epic Journey: Reykjavík to Picturesque Copenhagen
We traded the chilly winds of Reykjavík for a breathtaking sunset landing in Copenhagen! While our Icelandic layover wasn’t quite what we planned, this view definitely made up for it. We fueled up on some delicious pizza (ham & chicken, highly recommend!) and a Carlsburg non-alcoholic beer to quench our travel thirst. Tomorrow, the adventure continues as we head to Germany! Copenhagen to Cruise: Our Whirlwind Journey
Buckle up, travel lovers! Today’s vlog takes you on our journey from Copenhagen Airport all the way to the doorstep of our cruise in Rostock, Germany!
It wasn’t exactly a direct route – we hopped on five trains and two trams, navigating our way through charming towns and scenic landscapes. 
Despite the unexpected connections, we finally made it to the Radisson Blu hotel in Rostock, conveniently located a stone’s throw away from the cruise port in Warnemünde. Phew!

Today, we traded the ship for some bikes and hit the streets for a unique perspective of this charming coastal city. MSC Poesia: Day 3 – Klaipėda Chaos & Koldunai
Our Klaipėda adventure on Day 3 started with a twist! We hopped on a cheerful little train
, excited to explore the city. Unfortunately, the “happy” turned into a test of our decibel tolerance thanks to a VERY enthusiastic loudspeaker. Undeterred, we hit the streets and strolled through Klaipėda’s charming atmosphere. Our wanderings led us to a hidden gem – Etno dvaras! This traditional spot offered a delicious taste of Lithuania with their version of pierogi – the amazing koldunai. Let’s just say, the koldunai were the perfect comfort food after our train experience! MSC Poesia: Day 8 – Stockholm Scramble: Vikings, Buffets & Beating the Crowds!
Who knew a late start could lead to such an epic day in Stockholm? We bolted off the ship and grabbed some caffeine at a cozy coffee shop before hitting the ground running (well, more like brisk walking) through the massive Westfield mall. With our stomachs rumbling (and a whole lotta restaurants closed!), we strategized and landed on Pong, a delicious Asian buffet. Dim sum, sushi, Chinese stir-fry, and even a Thai Tom Yum soup later, we were refueled and ready to explore! Dodging the pre-ghttps://youtu.be/zQgoy3TlMnsame crowds, we made our way to the Vasa Museum, home to a majestic Viking warship that spent centuries chilling at the bottom of the sea. ️ It was fascinating to learn its history and see the incredible preservation efforts. After soaking up some Viking vibes, we relaxed with a bit of people-watching in the vibrant Museum Square. People-watching is a great way to get a feel for a city’s energy, don’t you think? Finally, it was time to head back to the ship for a celebratory dinner – it’s our second to last night onboard after all! What a whirlwind day in Stockholm! MSC Poesia: Day 9 – Farewell & Fun on the Final Sea Day! ️
Our last full day onboard turned out a bit different than planned! While the backstage tour wasn’t quite what we expected, we decided to make the most of it. Exploring Every Corner: We embarked on a self-guided mission to uncover the remaining hidden nooks and crannies of the ship. It’s amazing how much you can miss when you’re not actively searching! Sailaway Soiree: Since the cruise officially ends tomorrow, we decided to create our own farewell celebration in the main dining room. Think delicious food, laughter, and maybe a few tears (of joy, of course!). Copenhagen Calling: Though our cruise adventure is coming to a close, the fun isn’t over yet! Copenhagen Capers: Farewell Cruise & City Fun!
Our cruise adventure may be over, but the fun in Copenhagen is just beginning! After disembarking from the MSc Poesia, we dropped our bags at the Good Morning City Hotel and headed straight for the enchanting Tivoli Gardens. We strolled through the park, soaking in its whimsical atmosphere, before venturing to CopenHill, the unique rooftop ski slope. Back in Tivoli Gardens, we enjoyed the vibrant lights and festive ambiance. To top it all off, we indulged in an incredibly delicious and authentic Chinese feast at Fu Hao. No trip is complete without a little convenience store exploration, so we grabbed a MrBeast “Feastables” from a 7-Eleven – a first-time treat! Tomorrow, we head home with a suitcase full of memories.
